Selegiline is used to help control the symptoms of Parkinson's disease which is a disorder of the nervous system that causes difficulties with movement, muscle control, and balance. It prevents the breakdown of a chemical in your brain called dopamine; low levels of this chemical are associated with Parkinson's disease.

Take this medication by mouth, usually twice daily with breakfast and lunch. Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to the treatment. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.
