Drug Uses

Uroxatral is used basically for treating the signs of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate. It may also be used for specific requirements as decided by your doctor.



Usage

Use Uroxatral as advised by your doctor.

Consume Uroxatral by mouth with food.

Do not cut, crush, or grind before swallowing.

Take Uroxatral on a daily schedule to get the most advantage from it.

Ask your doctor any interrogations you may have about how to use Uroxatral before beginning the medication.



Drug Class and Mechanism

Uroxatral comes under alpha-blocker. It acts by blocking receptors in the lower urinary tract, making smooth muscles in the bladder neck and prostate to relax. This relaxation increases urine flow and decreases the symptoms of BPH.



Missed Dose

If you have missed a dose of Uroxatral, you may skip the dose and continue with the next dosage but if you can take the medicine as soon as possible and leave a time gap of at least 4 to 5 hours in between with the next dose. But doubling the dose at a time will bring harmful consequences. 



Storage

Keep Uroxatral at room temperature, within 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Set it away from high temperature, moisture, and light. Store Uroxatral out of the reach of children and away from pet animals.
